SPINE: Siderius Plug’s Immortality in Ninety-nine Endnotes is a solo horror RPG by Asa Donald of Backwards Tabletop. It's a game about hidden history, poetry, damaging and destroying printed media, and losing yourself inside a mysterious book sent to you by an estranged relative.
It's also a nominee for Best Solo RPG in this year's ENNIE Awards!
It was my first-ever crack at developmental editing professionally, and the popular and critical response to it has been phenomenal. We (and I say "we" at Asa's insistence that the book would not be what it is without the rest of the team, despite his excellent writing) already won an Indie Groundbreaker Award for Most Innovative earlier this year, and it'd be a pretty sick addition to my credentials as an editor if we also won an ENNIE.
You can learn more about the book from the link above or from Asa's thread on Bluesky, and vote here until July 19th if you want to support us or any other creators.
Remember to check out all the other categories and books you might be interested in before locking in your vote!
(And don't try to have multiple people in the same household vote; it's one person per IP address, as my supportive but over-enthusiastic parents quickly learned.)
